UPDATE: Standing Down.

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 30, 2009, 8:13 AM
So today is my last day as a Gallery Moderator. I have decided to stand down from my position of looking after Commercial & Fashion Photography. This has nothing to do with deviantART or the Community Relations team; this is to do with my uni work taking priority and I feel I can't dedicate the time I want to deviantART or the community at this time.

Thank you for all the support as an artist, I really do appreciate it and I've had an amazing time getting to help/know/promote deviants all over the world. I really hope to return to CR one day.

Best to you all, the community, deviants, staff and volunteers.

Trip to London + Calenders.

Sun Nov 22, 2009, 2:38 AM

London
Well on Friday, me, @Narfmaster and ^Pyrochan-dolls met up with ^Cedarseed who is on a short vacation from Lebanon in London. We went to a little cafe near the British Museum and chatted for a few hours about all sorts of stuff, it was a great time.

^Cedarseed then had to disappear back to the British Museum to enjoy the huge mount of history books they have for sale, and @Narfmaster went off to get a hair cut, leaving me and ^Pyrochan-dolls to wander around London. We ended up in the Trocadero where ^Pyrochan-dolls bought some awesome Letraset markers. After a bit of wandering about we went to the National Geographic store where ^Pyrochan-dolls bought a giant penguin poster, it looks so awesome, and the store is such a great place with all sorts of great posters and books.

Eventually I did a bit of street photography while waiting for the train home that I'll get around to uploading soonish. In the end it was a great day, and it was so nice to meet all three of you guys. ;)

Calenders
I am wondering if anyone is thinking of making Calendars this year from Commercial & Fashion Photography, if you are could you please note me. Thanks.

Colour drop tutorial
=nemeziz posted up a great little tutorial about colour drop photography, something that I really want to give a try, so please check it out at Colourdrop Tutorial

#iPhotograph and 11 NOV.

Wed Nov 11, 2009, 5:08 PM

November 11th
Well today is Remembrance Day, a day to remember the people who have laid down their lives in war. In remembrance of this day people often wear poppies as a symbol of their support, this poppy comes from John McCrae's poem In Flanders Fields in which he notes the growth of poppies across some of the battlefields of World War I.

To show support ^l8 made an article about the day and we have changed our avatars to poppies to show our support, his article can be found here Veterans/Remembrance Day 11-11-09

#iPhotograph
Ok, so, *iPhotograph and their chatroom #iPhotograph are seriously cool places. I have been spending quite a bit of time in their chatroom and it really is a great place, so if you're into photography and fancy a good old chat, come and check it out.

Anyway what I wanted to say was *iPhotograph are hosting a Christmas contest #iPhotograph Presents - Secret Santa!, so to celebrate Christmas and join in with a great contest and community all you need is a camera and you're all set. Plus there is a 6 month sub up for grabs so it's defiantly worth checking out.

Mail
I got more mail, two mugs and a calendar arrived as well as the mouse mat of ^archanN's work. I'm so excited, more is arriving tomorrow too.

So the deadline for the contest has been closing quickly, however, we have given an extension to the end of the year December 31st, that may seem a long way away but it's only about about 7 weeks. To find out more about this great film/animation contest please have a read of $Moonbeam13's article From Scripts to Flicks - EXTENSION!!

Changes & additions to Artisan Crafts Gallery
Ok, so there have been a few changes and additions to the Artisan Crafts Gallery, this comes from feedback from the community, and the expertise of `Myana and `Kitten-of-Woe and will make the galleries much more user friendly. To read more about the changes please have a read of $Moonbeam13's article Artisan Crafts Gallery - Changes & Additions
